I read this MIT paper on prototyping and wanted to share it with you. If you don't have time to read the paper, below is my summary ...
1. You can prototype sequentially (one by one) or in parallel (a few at a time).
2. Sequential prototyping is cheaper.
3. Parallel prototyping is faster.
4. In some cases, you need a little of both.
I think far too many startups actually think faster is better wrt prototyping but are actually doing sequential prototyping with phantom (non-existent) time-to-market pressures. It's better to slow down and focus on figuring out how to build a first product that maximizes profit right out of the gates.
